A Haiku For Each Day (1)

our tabby’s pale shadow
on the bathtub in winter
I will not push

a brunette on the ace smiles back
your golden frown
I go all in

ghost lanterns dancing
on the dusty mountainside

car fluid on the asphalt
dark rainbow

for us trading likes ump ohms
high dawn like my ad cabs

at night the distant train
calling like a great metal whale

the heat descends in waves
this turtle
smashed into a puzzle

a goldfish cracker
lost in the thick forest
its cloak of black ants
